It is never too late to start. Our One Year Foundation Course is designed to introduce you to the basics of the art form without overwhelming you. All you need to have is time and commitment.
If you have had a long break since you last trained seriously in Kathak, it would be best to join the One Year Foundation Course. It is designed not only for beginners but also for those who need to brush up their basics in dance technique, Hindustani music, fitness and theory, all of which are important for a strong foundation.
We will announce on social media when we have our next round of admissions for intermediate-advanced level students. You would have to send us a video of your dance following certain guidelines, so that we can help you decide which batch would be best suited to you. If you do not mind waiting, you may also enquire about our Waitlist form, so you can receive notifications and updates from us about admissions for your level.
Classes are held twice a week for each batch, usually early morning or in the evening, India time. The exact days and timings for each level can be found on the “Adults Classes” page.
Kindly send us an email to know more about the fee structure, as it differs according to the level and location of the student.
Unfortunately, at this point we are currently unable to offer one-on-one classes. We specialize in group classes, which is more economical for our students. Despite the group setting, our teachers are excellent at offering personalized feedback for each student - all our students can vouch for that!
No, our only studio is located in Pune in Viman Nagar. Those in other locations would have to enroll in our online classes.
It is not advisable to join an online class if the timings do not work for you and if you would mostly have to rely on learning through recordings. It is essential that while learning a nuanced art form like Kathak, that you interact with the teacher and receive feedback in real time, and save the recordings only for the rare occasion that you miss a class.
Tridhara has a unique and robust curriculum that students are tested on every year. However, we currently do not train students for any other government recognized exams. To assess our students in practical and theoretical aspects, we invite senior artistes and gurus every year. Students who successfully pass an exam and have been regular in class receive marksheets and certificates. Those who are located in different parts of India are to come to Pune for a few days of training each year, leading up to the exam. Those located internationally can opt for online examinations.
